Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte
A true masterpiece of seventeenth-century French castle architecture. Visitors get to see the state apartments and private cabinets, the dining room and the bedrooms. The château is surrounded by French-style gardens created by André le Nôtre, and there is a museum of horse carriages on the premises.

Ferrières-en-Brie
The castle of Ferrières was built in Italian renaissance style between 1855 and 1859 under the aegis of Baron James de Rothschild, in order to exhibit invaluable collections of works of art and to serve as a setting for sumptuous feasts. The 125-hectare grounds are regarded as one of France’s finest English-style gardens. Plants, lawns and water features form a unique, harmonious ensemble.
